Hi All,

We receive a email from USCIS that says "On April 22, 2013, we mailed a notice requesting evidence/information for this case to you or your representative. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the material requested. ...."

3 days had passed and we did not received any notice in the mail, so my fiance decided to call them via the number they provided in the email.

So he listened carefully and hit the appropriate numbers and finally spoke to a real person. Just one problem. The guy was like a robot going on and reading the same thing they sent us in the email and reminding that if we do not respond in a reasonable time our case would be denied. So he had to interrupt the robotic voice many times to try not to waste his time and asked if there was any way to make sure it was sent to the right address. The answer was: "I'm sorry we don't have access to that information" so he said "OK can you check to see what address you have on file for me?" And again BOT said "I'm sorry I don't have access to that information." Then he said I could make an appointment with my local field office and come down and talk to them to find out what address is on file. He also said it can take up to 15 days to get the letter.

After this, we received another email stating "On April 25, 2013, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. ...."

I just want to ask if this happened to anybody else? How long do we need to wait for the mailed RFE?

Your information will be highly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Mine, I got my RFE on april20.

its already 26 here, tom 27.

iv been waiting almost.. 6-7 days but stil nothing. :-(

Lame. This process is very frustrating because of the misinformation. In my case the center is in CA and I am in CA so it would take only two days by the slowest possible means so they really didn't mail it yet. The thing that is also really lame is the call center is completely useless. Whenever I call to try to get information they just say, "I don't have access to that information." They couldn't even tell me what address they have on file for me. The only info they know is already on the website so they are really completely useless.

So what do they typically want in a RFE? If I knew I could start gathering the info in anticipation of the letter. Thanks in advance.

We had the same thing just happen. April 19 notified by email of the RFE being sent. I was out of town this week, so called them on Monday, April 22 to ask if they could tell me what was in the RFE. Level 1 knew nothing of course so I asked to be escalated to level 2. This person also said they didn't have access to the information, so I'll just have to wait. Then on April 23 received another email saying RFE sent on that day. I've talked to others and been told that they will only send you one RFE containing everything they may want. So after reading this thread, I'm guessing the second notice is because the call into their center maybe triggers them to resend it. Not sure yet, still awaiting ours as well as to the contents of it.

Yeah I think that is it. The call triggers it. If so it is really lame.
