Hello........

I'm new here, I live in England and my fiancee lives in America and we are planning on getting married next year in America so we will be applying for a K1 visa.

Just a quick question.........can anyone from England who has been through the K1 process please tell me what sort of timescale we can expect to endure. I realise each case is different but it'd just be interesting to hear how long it has taken other couples.

Thank you :D

PS: I've already picked up lots of interesting info on here :)

That depends on where in America your fiance lives. Can you tell us what state? Then we can know which service center the application will have to go to, one is faster than the other.

as the previous poster said it depends on where the USC lives but an average would be 6-9 months if all runs smooth.....

It is best NOT to book any flights or make plans on a date of marriage as it is hard and costly if things go wrong or you come across a problem and you get held up......

All the best and welcome to VJ

She lives in Louisiana... so she'll be sending the petition to TSC (Texas Service Center) so it can be forwarded to CSC (California Service Center)... which, unfortunately, is the slower one of the two centers processing this visa. :( Sorry. :( At the top click on "immigration timelines" and on the left click on "timeline search." Play with that and you'll be able to see the timelines of other UK couples whose petitions were processed at CSC. Good luck on your journey!

hey :)

lm also going through texas (california). its a little hard to say exactly how long things are going to take as the averages were all skewed by the IMBRA nightmare.

as a very rough guide and if all goes well, its probably about 6 months from very start to end. 3 months to get approved and 3 months for medical and then interview :)

but thats utter rough guides, could be faster, could be slower! each case is different and the speeds can pick up or slow down depending on all kinds of things.

welcome btw and good luck, this site is the best site on the net by far :)
