Most bomb making materials are strictly regulated, which is why most mass murders go for the easy catch, a gun. Ever since McVeigh and the OK city bombings, the regulations on such materials have been made much tougher.

Evidently, not for the explosives themselves. From what has been suggested so far, everything used to make the bombs could be obtained, probably without even showing an ID other than to show the buyer is over 18, at the local hardware store, sporting goods, or even Walmart.

In my former arguments about shooters like in Colorado ect. I have said if they did not use gun they could have made a bomb.....There are many ways to make bombs ....fertilizer and diesel fuel was used in the OK.ciy bombing. Chemicals can be used to explode.Soft targets are any place you desire to look. We knew this would turn around to be about guns by the anti gunners. It looks like pressure cookers need to be registered and as the bombers had more than 6 made up. We need a special permit to own over two. We should limit the size also....Say 1.5 quarts.....After all who needs more than that to cook a meal

Really? Every few months someone drives onto the sidewalk, or into a store with the INTENT of murdering as many people as possible? Those drivers are purposefully using their vehicles as a murder weapon?
