Beneficiary lost job right before interview

I am the petitioner applying for my wife. Our interview is on April 30th. She was just let go today from her job. Do we need to do anything prior to the interview because of this new development? In one of the form directions (I can't remember which one), it said in Chinese (but not in English) that she should not switch or quit her job. Now I am very worried about the interview.

You didn't "apply for" your wife, you "filed on behalf of" your wife.

Now that the semantics are out of the way, the beneficiary loosing a job right before a US immigrant visa interview is not an issue. You have nothing to worry about as far as this is concerned.

That's right. They tell the beneficiary not to make any major life changes in case there is something at the interview that delays the approval. They don't want people suffering unnecessary hardship because they quit their job in anticipation of leaving the country and then had to spend weeks in administrative processing or some such. (So compassionate they are.) But so long as your affidavit of support was accepted, and none of it depended on the beneficiary's income, which it wouldn't unless you proved the income would continue in the US, then you're fine. Just make sure your wife is sorted as to money while she waits to fly over

Won't affect her visa processing at all . Are you a DCF filer, or no ?

Its irrelevant if BOTH of you are laid off now.

It only matters at the time you submit the Affadavit of Support. Once this document is approved by them, they dont care if you got laidoff, and they wont even know if you dont tell them, and they dont even care if your wife is unemployed.

So dont worry about it.
