Petitioner attending interview?

Does anyone know if it is beneficial for the petitioner to attend the visa interview? My wife is in Pakistan, and I was wondering if I should attend the interview once the time arrives. Generally do people receive the visa that day? (so we could come back together)

If ou are able to make the trip then I would certainly recommend going. Attending the interview will never hurt your case and can help. The bad news is your wife is likely to be placed on ap, which can last from a day to much longer. So it is hard to predict if she would be able to fly back with you.

if you click on the us embassy in Pakistan, top of this page it says yes you can attend the interview with your fiance'.

If your consulate/embassy is one of the few that allows the USC to attend the interview, and you are financially able to make the trip, I would recommend it. It definitely couldn't hurt!

I would say wait for the interview result. I have a friends who attended the interview with their partners doesn't really make a difference on the visa being issued or not. I attended my husbands then he was put on AP and we are still in AP and I came back to States after six months of waiting. If you can afford the trip go for it! However if your hoping she might get her visa soon because you would have to come back soon then I would recommend waiting after the interview to see what they say to her. Females are lucky, they usually approve quickly.
