Hi everyone! Please share your knowledge.

I applied for adjustment of status. My status is pending and I have already had my fingerprints taken. Waiting for the interview to be scheduled.

My husband is often on business trips.

What if they schedule the interview while he is not available? Is it possible to postpone the interview to another date and how long may it take to wait for another one to be scheduled? Another 2-3 month or a couple of weeks? Has anyone heard about this?

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum.

Try to think positively that the scheduled interview will be when your husband is in town. Sometimes employers can be lenient with work schedules. Toward the bottom of the AOS appointment form announcing your scheduled interview there should be a phone number and information about rescheduling your appointment. Regarding getting a rescheduled appointment, a lot will depend on the availability of the USCIS Field office.

Hope that you will be able to make your first scheduled appointment and be done with it.

Good luck!

Thank you!

I would say that it is better if your husband takes the day off the day of the interview. Your interview is very important I wouldn't suggest to reschedule for nothing. But if you do decide to reschedule, they send a number in the NOA letter that you can call and do it. When they send you the letter, they usually give you a whole month to put things together and prepare for your interview. Good luck!
