I remailed my Fiance Visa Petition I-129F with all of the supporting document and a check on April 1, 2013. [Priority Mail to Dallas, TX]

I know you must wait up to 10 days to hear back from them. My question is I supplied an email address and a cell phone number for a text notice.... and want to know..

Does anyone know if the email and/or text notification comes any faster than when they also send the postal mail one? Or will the notifications come at the same time?? All I want to know is if the lock box received it and

I assumed the paper stating to email/text me that I would hear something sooner than the 10 day postal mail.

Thank you,

Deborah

Also, if you sent a check, look on you bank account to see if it was cashed, that might happen before you get any notice.

Oh, okay. This is the second one I sent because I didnt mail the check the first one.. my bad! I sent corrected papers this time and didnt copy all of them so Im hoping it didnt get lost. I just am a bit worried and I know patience is something I will need a lot of. Thank you for the comment.

Also just to add because I forgot in my other post - if you don't get any text / email and get the NOA 1 in your mail box. Take this to your computer and go on the USCIS website, make an account and put your case number in your portfolio - from here you can manually select to have text and emails sent to you. After that you should then get them. ( had to do this from start to finish because they never used my contact forms I sent )

all good information in this thread.

My personal story is that I sent mine Express and it arrived and was signed for on a Wednesday. It took until the following Monday for the check to be cashed, then later that day I got my email notification. I got the actual hard copy that following friday with the NOA1 date of the previous Friday. So even though my check was cashed on Monday, my priority date was set that previous friday, 2 days after they actually physically received my documents.

Honestly, I think everything went perfectly smooth for mine, so I'd say that's about as fast as one should expect to get their details, and that's only with using Express Overnight Delivery. I'd guess with priority, you could expect to add 3-5 days onto that time frame, and standard postal delivery you could likely add 1-2 weeks on top. Hope you get your NOA1 soon and have a very smooth process.

Okay my nerves arent as bad as they were 15 minutes ago. I used my tracking number off the mailing label and the lockbox received it at 10:35am April 3, 2013. So no check was cashed as of yet and no update on the original receipt number. They may have issued me a new one and if the check wasnt cashed Im thinking its probably on its way back here because I made another mistake. Sighs!!!!

Ohhh, Okay. Just read this. Whew. So it isnt always cashed within the first few days of receipt it might take longer. My heart is thudding hard in my chest! :P I still have hope it wasnt rejected. I will know on the 10th or at the latest the 11th via postal mail most likely.. if I open my mail box and see a big package in there I will know I have another correction to make. Thank you very very much for this information. I appreciate the feedback I get from everyone. Will keep an update posted. :)

Thank you,

Deborah

UPDATE: They cashed the check today! Now Im hoping that the next thing Im waiting for is the letter of acceptance to come in the mail by the 11th at the latest. Yay.

Deborah,

I mailed ours off on 4/1/13 as well... I included the G-1145 form. It was received per USPS on 4/3 but, I just received the email yesterday 4/8 (I never got a text) and it indicates I should receive the hard copy NOA1 within 7-10 days. Hope that helps, we're in the same boat but, don't fret... it's on the way. Good Luck!
