After months of putting together our file, I asked and reasked and nagged a little more to see if my fiance's divorce certificate is the right one. He assumed it was but it just didn't look right to me. We JUST mailed our forms in, received a receipt number, and NOW he finds out his divorce "certificate" isn't a certificate. He actually has it on him. Should he send it to the Vermont Centre now or wait for the NOA1? Do you think this will add to our waiting time or are we being preemptive by sending it in now? I'm so frustrated!

I would wait until you have your CSC or VSC number.

Then send it with a cover letter making sure that you have that number on the certificate and the cover letter.

It’ll be easier for it to get married up with the file that way.

Do you think we would still get an RFE for this? Or will we be ok?

Can't send anything until you get the RFE. Just be ready and turn it around quick, not a show stopper.

It's the usa one, I knew it wasn't right-there was no seal or anything on it. He has the right one. We are going to send it in anyways and hopefully this will save us from getting an RFE. If anyone has run into this, please let me know what happened.

Honestly I would go with sending it. Worst case scenario is that it gets lost and you get an RFE and have to resend with the RFE sheet.

At least you tried right?

Otherwise you’ll sit and worry the whole time and wonder if you should have sent it.

(If you are at all like me anyways  )

My fiance mailed it in. Hopefully they will save everyone time and just attach it to the file. I don't understand why they wouldn't. Waste of time to send an RFE for it when it's in their hands. I will keep you all updated.
