I'm planning to call their 1-800 number to learn our case status since the website is not moving at all. After calling 1-800 number what numbers should I press to get someone on the phone as quick as possible ?

I don't remember, the voice message should tell you a list of choice. pick the one that says you have a case filed...

The strongest evidence is bank accounts and financial things I would think. Affidavits from friends would be the easiest thing to fake. Not saying don't send them, but just they're sort of 'secondary' evidence. Good luck, looks like you have enough!

  • 2 weeks later...

plus the original submittion to make it complete because the adjudication officer may not necessarily have "complete" document at time.

Is the standard practice of RFE'ers to send the requested information AND copies of the previously submitted information? I need to submit more evidence of things that I partially covered, and completely new evidence, so should I just build a new package and send it with everything?

We sent

  • Additional photos from 2008 filings to the present, plus our 2012 Christmas card
  • Updated lease signed by me, John and our landlord (plus landlord's business card and note for USCIS to call him)
  • Benefit confirmation with employer listing John as my spouse
  • Two letters from our bank, plus bank statements
  • Additional utility bills addressed to me and John
  • Western Union notices for John’s payments towards our car
  • Car insurance notice from GEICO with both of our names
  • Bills from joint appointments at our medical office
  • 2010 benefits notice from prior employer listing John as my spouse
  • Facebook testimonials from friends and family in America and England
  • One disk containing YouTube evidence from 2008-present
  • Letter from mother-in-law and receipt of gift from us to MIL
  • Receipts from 2010 travel

We didn't repeat the items we already sent in (we had sent a lot initially, but according to our RFE, it was all too recent and not cumulative of our marriage). I totally didn't do us any favors by not setting up a joint account or filing jointly, so all we could provide on the financial front was concurrent banking activity via our bank statements and letters from our local branch. But, we did our best, and there's always the interview and at the very worst, Stokes and immigration court.

I'd totally re-send old stuff, and then the new stuff.

We're about ready to send off our packet. I'm including the following evidence of relationship, do you think this is sufficient?

-Jointly filed federal and state tax returns for 2011 and 2012

-Apartment leases for 2011-present

-Official letter from my workplace showing my husband as my beneficiary

-Official letter from my husband's workplace showing me as his medical insurance dependent

-Scan of husband's drivers license with current address

-Copy of electric bill with my name/address on it, copy of gas bill with his name/address

-Copies of joint checking account statements (one in 2011, one in 2012)

-Copy of renter's insurance policy in both of our names

-Copies of flight itineraries from various vacations taken together since marriage

-5-10 photos of vacations together

Your list looks good.

In addition to these docs, my list included the following:

- A copy of the approval letter of [beneficiary] permanent resident card (This is actually the mailer portion of the approval letter with 3 barcodes, which is actually your USCIS account number, alien number etc..) it makes it easier for them to scan etc. to expedite the process.

- Copy of our passports including the page of the entry/exit stamps from our (Name of the country) trip in Month Year.

- Copy of our driver's licenses showing same home address

- Copies of our wage/income statement forms issued by our respective employers showing same address of residence:

- USC Spouse’s Form W-2 for the tax year 2011 & 2012

- Beneficiary’s form W2 & 1099 for tax year 2011 and form 1099 for tax year 2012
