Yeah there is one Waipahu and Ala Moana shopping center, which is on the island of Oahu. I live on Kauai, which is 200 dollar round trip away. But no worries we have some of the best home cooked Ilocano food.

Ooohhh so that's why you said it costs $400 just to get to the nearest jollibee... Hehe!

Anyway my husband said it doesnt taste much like the ones found here in the philippines. We eat there sometimes when he's home but if he's in hawaii he'd rather stick to foodland or homecook. :)

I am surprised we do not have a Jolibee here. Filipinos make a near majority here. It cost about 400 dollars round trip, for me and wife to go to the nearest Jolibee.

Nope not on Kauai, but here on Oahu there's one in Waipahu, plus a Max's near there also another Max's across from Costco in Iwalei.

Oops, guess I jumped the gun on my reply. Should have read the entire thread first!

If you wanna eat dried up chicken and other meat, go to Max's, Jollibee, and other Pinoy fastfood chains, then you'll find out what cardboard tastes like. My husband avoids fastfood like plague, but in his first Philippine visit in 2009, I insisted that he try local brands and eats. The only thing he'd order repeatedly was halu-halo.

I must admit that I have grown to love Jollibee over the years. I think it has more to do with the association with good times than the quality or taste of the food. I'll take a yum with spaghetti combo any day. I love Andok's, Mang Inasal, Max's, Chik-boy, Bon Chon, Chowking, Greenwich, etc etc. There used to be tons of Shakey's pizza when I was a kid in the 80's in the US, but most of those are closed down in my neck of the woods now. I love going there too, but my wife totally hates it (and all pizza in general). I think there's still one in Wyoming that's not too far away. I doubt I'll see a Jollibee in Utah anytime soon, but you never know what the future holds. Happy eating everyone, whatever it is you like :)

The last time we vacationed in Phils we went to Jollibee. Jena got her old standby and commented, "Gosh hun, this isn't as good as I remembered". I replied, "Well, you've been eating much better food hun." I doubt if we will ever eat there again.

What's the bee's name btw?
