In Vallejo, CA about 35 minutes from where we live, there is a large Filipino grocery store, and attached to it, a Jolibee, Max's, Red Ribbon and Chow King. We make the pilmagrage there once a month or so to stock up on the staples. Every once in a while I grab spaghetti at Jolibee.

No, it's not great. But it was the very first thing I ate in the Philippines. My flight arrived at 4:30 am, and my fiancé to be met me at the airport, and we took a taxi to Malate where I was staying. I was starving, and about the only thing open was Jolibee. So it holds a special place in my heart still

I jsut found out there are like 20 Jollibee restaurant in the US.

Who knew... I think it would be like a religious pilgrimage for my wife.

They have a edible hot dog. The hamburger can be eaten. Other than that how it is sooo popular or that over 20 could be open in the U.S is beyond me .

The hamburgers are the worse I have ever had.. In the PI she will eat tbe chicken there and its not too bad.. KFC's suck $&@ in the PI.. But she eats KFC here in the states and says its her favorite, no far trips to jollibee for us..

They are open in areas that can support them. If you walk into one, it will be apparent why that is. And to be fair, the quality is on par with most US fast food, though I have never tried a burger or spaghetti there (or in the PI as well).

I am surprised we do not have a Jolibee here. Filipinos make a near majority here. It cost about 400 dollars round trip, for me and wife to go to the nearest Jolibee.

There is a jollibee in Hawaii. Look it up. I think it opened about 2years ago. My husband tried it once. And complained. Hehe!

Korean BBQ rocks!

I love it! Some nice Angus galbi, brisket, and bulgogi, with all the banchan and maybe some soju... bliss.

I get the comfort food aspect of it, though. I lived in Britain for many years, and one time I made a special pilgrimage to what was then the only Taco Bell in the UK. I willingly ate their bean burritos, even though they were even worse than US ones. It was the principle of the thing!

I do like their sisig, though it it isn't as good as the normal restobar stuff in the PI. But good enough for every-once-in-a-while.

We ordered 3am room service from Jollibee when we stayed at The Lancaster in Mandaluyong this past January. It tasted so much better when freshly cooked and you've got the munchies. They also have more selection and the chicken seems fresher in Pinas.

Later that day we went to Banana Leaf at The Podium. Most would say it's much better than McDo or KFC. I've also been to both Lawry's in Beverly Hills and 5 Crowns in Corona del Mar (we love prime rib!), and go out to eat regularly. Still, I'm not a food snob.

I [still] haven't seen who these supposed culinary expert wives are, but their attitudes about things Pinoy don't surprise me. I agree that it's not the taste for your typical "american", but it's not meant to be. That being said, "Two Spaghetti w/Yum + Coke, please. Oh, and a side order of Creamy Macaroni Soup. Make that two... SALAMAT".

I usually end up getting the Big Yum burger at Jollibee, then I end up complaining about it afterwards. Why do they put condiments (sauce) on both sides of the burger? It makes it so slippery and It just keeps sliding out of the bun. lol.

Yeah there is one Waipahu and Ala Moana shopping center, which is on the island of Oahu. I live on Kauai, which is 200 dollar round trip away. But no worries we have some of the best home cooked Ilocano food.
