I-751 sent by Priority Mail to TSC

Hi there,

haven't been here in a while.

And now I am going crazy and nuts!

The following:

My GC expires on December 14, 2006. I submitted the I-751 last Thursday to TSC in Mesquite to the stated P. O. BOX for I-751 by Priority Mail, no signature required, just to make sure it got there.

On Friday, the tracking information told me that the item cannot be delivered, because nobody was there and they left a note. Huh?? Since when do letters to PO Boxes need to be personally received since USPS states that Priority Mail is for PO boxes. I repeat, we did not require a signature from the recipient - just make sure it is there.

And it is now already Wednesday and the application is still hanging unclaimed at the post office in Mesquite.

Someone else who sent with Priority Mail to TSC had the same?

Well, I don't know what to do. I have 29 days left for filing. I am thinking of re-submitting the application and send it out with FEDEX on Monday and have it shipped to the courier address the USCIS states on their webpage.

Would be grateful for any reply if it is normal that they do not pick up the stuff from their PO BOX when sent with Priority Mail that does not need a signature as proof of delivery?

Check again, remember last weekend was a holiday weekend. Also all packages get held at the post office and are picked up once a day, it is a PO Box. Since you indicated that you did not request signature proof, they system probably wont indicate the package was picked up.

When I sent our case to VSC I sent it priority mai, certified, with the signature return card, that way I had evidence that they got it.

One other thing, did you use a personal check? If so check the bank to see when it gets cashed.

Also the deadline is in one month, so give it a week or so to see if you get a receipt letter from USCIS.

Yes, we enclosed a personal check and keep checking if it was cashed. I am just panicking since there is not so much time left. I would have filed earlier, but I was seriously sick for a couple of weeks.

I just don't understand why it could not be delivered? It is a PO BOX. They just have to put that thing into the PO BOX and it is delivered - no signature required. Although I spoke to someone from the USPS and he said, that Priority Mail DOES require a signature. We did not ask for it to be signed - it is an optional service.

But anyway, thanks for the reply and I bet I will have to wait just a little bit longer. I am just on needles and pins - that's all.

also sent priority on Friday tracking shows received Monday 13th 3 30 in afternoon but i did ask for signature, which today doesnt show as picked up, just received. I will check again in the morning.

The same thing happened to our I-751 priority mailed to the TSC on October 30. I attempted to track delivery only to discover that no one was there to take delivery around noon the next day. I guess they were all out to lunch. Fortunately it was delivered at 5 AM the next morning. Who the heck was at work at that hour of the morning? Anyway, the check got cashed and we recently got the NoA's.

I wouldn't worry just yet.

I just sent mine via first class mail with the signature return card thingy. I remember years back reading that VSC handle priority mail differently and therefore gets in a different queue. I have no idea whether this still happens, but it may be an explanation. I'm sure it will all be fine.

Friday was a holiday for USCIS and Saturday was one for USPS. FedEx tried to deliver mine then and were unable to. It was delivered Monday, check was cashed yesterday. Keep an eye on your bank account.

Thanks everyone for the postings and sorry for panicking ... I am the worrying kind since the day I was born ... but anyway, USCIS received my application on Nov 13, check was cashed and today, I had the NOA in the mail.

Wow.

Now I feel spoiled.
