My interview was early November. I was told everything looks good and I will get a visa pending security clearance from D.C. Four months later, I havent heard anything yet.

I see a lot of people are going through this. while others have been reunited with their loved ones. I am starting a thread so every one going through this process can share their experience and if they have any information that can benefit others!

Well Let me tell you what information I have gotten till now. I keep calling the the Office of Visa Services, consular Affairs Bureau at the DOS.

They have been telling me since december that the process is still pending. There are three checks. One is pending, one has cleared and one is on hold.

I have written to the DOS and legal net. But I have not recieved any information from them. Today I faxed a letter to the FBI, but I really dont expect to hear any thing from them.

My lawyer is going to talk to the FBI tommorow and try to see if he can get any information out of them.

Another interesting information I got from the Visa specialist was that the embassy requested a follow up from the security agnecy and they were told that security clearance is still pending.

We went to our interview on Jan 9, 2006 for a K-1 visa, the consulate officer said he needed more evidence to prove our relationship was real gave us a 221g and placed us on Administrative Review. He said he needed time to find something on my fiance but 6 months???? I thought it only took about 3 months. He asked us to bring the rest of the evidence in July, no photocopies. My fiance is from Mexico and our interview was in Juarez, I think the consulate officer was in a bad mood that day because he denied everyone that went to his window.

I was told that our case is pending fingerprint results. We are going through Administrative Processing (as the Embassy's email stated, and not Administratice Review...if there is a difference). We are on K-3.

Fingerprints were sumitted Jan 30, 2006. We have not heard anything back yet, but according to the Embassy's average time for this type of processing, it should be sometime next week we hear something. We'll see!

Did they take your fingerprints? Does NVC tell you that 3 security clearances are pending? Or did the Embassy tell you this?

P.S...I am a Michigander too!

Sameh,

I think you should also persue the I-130. I have seen where when you persue the

I-130 in the mist of k-3 stuff. it can Kick you off AR/AP. you need your CR1 ultimately.

since you are going thought this AP/AR now. when its compleated you get your

CR1. so you dont have to AOS in the USA..

We are going through New Delhi Consulate. My husband was fingerprinted and we are hoping for results very soon, although from your admin processing, it seems daunting. You are just told that you are going through multiple security checks? Have the fingerprints cleared but other checks are still pending?

Good Luck!!! Please keep us posted.

P.S....Go Blue!

What is "quick" for fingerprints?

And how do you know you are even going through those other checks you mention? Do they tell you this when you call to check on your case status? Do they tell you when they after your interview when your visa is said to be pending?

Thanks michigan! I thought maybe quick fingerprints was a couple of weeks (ok, I was hoping!!)

The NVC just tells me "yes, FP are still pending". What I am not sure about is, does that mean the check is not done, or it means Delhi got the results and haven't actually moved the case forward?.

And the FBI number is just a recording that tells you to email them if you are going through a name check.

Ah well...patitence, patience!!

I think in your case, the only thing pending is the finger prints. These finger prints take about 3-4 weeks to come back from the FBI. You should be ok :)

Hello, my husband had his interview at the Casablanca, Morocco on Tuesday, February 28th. He was given the 221G form letter saying it needed administrative processing and he would be contacted as soon as it is done. At the Consulate, my husband was told this is very normal. I have luckily had confirmation through my Congressmans office when they checked with the Department of State, conforming they are processing the Security Check. So we should be getting the visa in a week or a couple weeks depending on how long it takes them to do this process. Since they took his fingerprints the day of the interview, I guess their is no way a security check can be done much faster. Wish they had my husband do the fingerprints before the interview just like the medical exam and all the other paperwork gathering so we didn't get such a poor explaination why no visa was given the day of the interview or when we can get it.

So hopefully the security check will go fast and our spouses get their visas soon to be with us again soon. For me it has been over 10 months sense I last saw my husband and sent in for the K3.

I guess we just have to be patient, but if you are like me I am tired of being patient I want my husband.
