Hello everybody,

I am new here and glad I found the forum because I have some questions

We sent our petition to the Chicago lockbox on January 24th and received a receipt number (MSC) on the 28th by email. The email said we´d get any paper with the receipt number after 5 to 10 days but never got it. Also I don´t know where to find out how long it takes till we received the NOA2.

We were told that our case was forwarded to a center in Missouri.

Our check has not been cashed yet and the expedite processing (deployment) that we asked for has not been approved as well although we were told we´d get an answer within 5 days. it´s been 5 Weeks ever since we requested it and nothing happened?! We only got the answer that they have too much to do.

Should our check be cashed by now? Is it normal that the expedite request takes so long?

So many questions :help:

Thank you so much for your fast answer.

We call USCIS ever 3 to 4 days!!

Are you speaking to a tier 2 supervisor?

If not, next time, demand to speak with one as they can see more info than the first CSR can.

What answers are they giving you?

my husband talked his way through every person working in Missouri as it feels. He talked to regular people who take the calls, supervisors, tomorrow he will get forwarded to the head of the department as he was told. So far all he heard was: You´re petition is in progress.

What´s wrong with our case??

We have not even received the NOA1 as a hardcopy yet (only email), the expedite doesn´t get approved, nothing is going forward :crying:

Wow, this is just so weird.

Sorry I can't be of more help, then =\

Is your hubby the USC and is he in the US?

Or are you the USC and are you in the US?

I assume the answer to 'in the US' is yes?

If so, perhaps an infopass appt is appropriate.

But then again I'm assuming no one told you that your petition was transferred right?

God this all just seems so strange.

I know! Especially because no one gives us any answers or different ones?

We were told on the phone that our case got transferred to Missouri but nobody ever put that in writing.

My husband is the US citizen. He´s deployed and I am in Germany till I get the greencard...hopefully!

What´s an infopass appt? Can I get that here too?

Missouri is where all cases were transferred after Aug 15.

Then they typically go to a local field office.

But since your hubby is not in the US, then he is probably still at the missouri center.

Infopass is where you walk your butt to a local field office (in the us) that has your file and say HEY YO ####### IS UP!?

And sometimes you get a few answers.

But really probably not possible since your hubby has to do it and he's not in the US and his petition probably isnt at a local office.

I suggest at this point you maybe try contacting your state senator or representative.

Actually, your husband would have to do this.

ok, I will tell him. Thank you so much for your answers!! I thought maybe we did something wrong. but I´m pretty sure we didn´t.

This is so annoying. And the people from USCIS are mostly so unfriendly and not helpful

Not that I can see.

Maybe someone else will come along with some crazy insight to this whole thing.

Hope you hear something soon!

I will tell you that expedite requests seem to have been a crapshoot lately.

You're doing it based on deployment.

I just thought of something.

I've seen there's a military line to call.

Have you been calling that number?

I would say call it and open an expedite request.

Even though you already did, do it again.

I saw someone recently that was approved w/in days of doing this.

I just want that to be over with. My child needs to go to school in August and I want to do that in the States that we do not have to move in the middle of the school year (second reason we asked for expedite processing!!). Some people we know made up a fake deployment letter and got the expedite approved weeks ago although they filed at the same time and at the same place. It´s so unfair!

Yes, we call the military hotline every time and get connected from someone of the expedite processing department.

If your husband is USC employed by US govt/ military you can apply for US passport under clause 319(b) immediately after getting the green card

however, its weird to know your cheque is not cashed yet. have you drawn in on local bank in us?

interesting, thank you for the info. I would only apply for a us passport, if I could keep my german one as well though.

yes, picked up the cheque (or was it a money order?) myself in a local US bank where my husband used to live before her deployed.
