if a bird can collide with a jetliner and make it crash...

That must have been Obama's fault too...

Meanwhile I trust nobody could really come up with a reason as to why NK would actually want to send a nuke our way...

Whatever the reasons are, you should be able to sleep soundly with your snuggle blanket knowing that America and its fighting men and women will risks their lives to keep you safe from any attack Gegel. I pray that no NK babies are accidentally killed in the defense of America's safety and freedom. I would hate to see all of the activist activate over it.

I have no doubt our men and women in uniform are up for any task handed to them. I am sure they would laugh and respond kindly to your mockery of their valor.

However, the question still remains as to why would NK want to launch a nuclear attack on the US. What would they have to profit or gain from such an enterprise?

Strategically it would be a mistake, for they themselves would be obliterated in the retaliation, certainly to ensue. Economically, they would cause the entire world to plunge in an irreversible crisis, with China being quite possibly the biggest loser. China would also receive the brunt of the fallout of such a retaliatory action.

All in all, the only reason for NK to make such a statement is to rally their people behind their failed government. It is no different than what the Soviets did in the old days. Even they knew then there could be no winners in a nuclear conflagration. The Chinese know that all too well. In the end it is all about uniting their people behind a national cause, and pushing the buttons of some scared trigger happy Americans. But to be sure, you probably already knew that.

I don't think N Korea has much logic or reason to anything they do. They are a nation of little paranoid wankers living with their heads in the sand.

anything can intercept anything, given enough notice. a bb gun can intercept an icbm, not that it would do much good.....

A bb size and weight projectile fired from a space-based rail-gun could theoretically knock down large ICBM's!

Rather, their senior leadership consists of little paranoid wankers!

It would be much easier to deal with them if it was not for the fact that Seoul is a very short distance from the border and its population is highly vulnerable to the conventional weapons the north has arrayed along the border. If they were to launch any attack that deterrent would be gone in an instant, followed shortly thereafter by much of North Korea!
