Hello everyone.

I hope you guys can share your experience with me because I am pretty frustrated and I reached the limit of my patience.

As you can see by my timeline I got my NOA1 on 19th June, my priority date at the time was 19th November and then it got postponed because of all the ####### going on in VSC. On 5th February I got a RFE, I sent the document requested right away (they only wanted our marriage certificate) and looks like they received it on 19th February. So far no approval yet. Is this normal? How long did it take you to get approved after a RFE? Why in the heck does it take so long to have a freaking background double checked (got checked less than one year ago because of my husband job in the army)?

I'm tired of hoping and waiting. Give it strait to me. How long do you think is it going to take?

My husband is making everything more complicated by sugar coating stuff to me but I am so mad and exhausted by this wait that I don't want any other sugar coating.

Share experiences/advices/tips?

Thank you all

Giovanna

19 Feb was only 2 weeks ago. I would expect approval soon, in the next two weeks. The background check doesn't take long - it takes about a minute. The rest of the time is just waiting in line to get approved. Whatever agency that did your check before won't be communicating with USCIS anyway - expect things to repeat (like fingerprints). Don't worry :)

Thanks for your answer :)

I do hope they'll approve me in the next couple of weeks! My husband is turning 30 on 1st May and I hope I can be there for his birthday because he doesn't have any friends or family where he is now. Also we didn't get to spend together our 1st anniversary, a bunch of holidays and my birthday together and I am dealing with my guilt :(

He begged me to not leave but I didn't feel like missing my brother's wedding in Italy so my AOS went down the drain and we had to start everything all over again. I feel so bad thinking that I could have avoided this whole situation if I had been less "selfish" and more careful. Oh well... I'll keep my fingers crossed.

It took almost exactly a month. I got it on December 5th, sent it out on December 15th, and got my NOA2 on January 16th. You should probably hear something within the next few weeks! good.gif
