RFEs and their effect on processing times

I filed my AOS packet on 13 JULY BUT received an RFE which was answered and received on 16 AUG.

So when I'm looking at the status dates and threads am I considered a JULY application or an August. When I call for a service request and they say they are processing cases from September am I one or two months behind? Just curious.

At lest a month maybe more depending on what the IO opened while waiting for your return. Ours was a little less than a month.

Be sure to check all the numbers on your forms that they sent you. They sent my wife an RFE when she did her AOS and they had assigned her two numbers so the whole process took almost a year because we kept waiting on an interview after our reply to their RFE. Long story short when they discovered she had been assigned two numbers and fixed it that day at the service center we had our interview within 30 days. Good look and I hope the rest of your journey goes well.

a month added to the RFE receive date? (give or take?) so I am now looking for when my local office are processing mid-September applications?
