I wore nice pants and a nice shirt, but nothing over the top like a suit. PJ's might not be good, but jeans and a non-offensive tshirt would be fine I think.

C'mon! You're Canadian and you don't know what to wear in the winter?! ;)

I don't know if Montreal makes you wait outside for a spell before going in the building, but Vancouver does. So yeah, I'd suggest a coat if it's cold.

Everyone else I saw in the consulate was dressed nicely but not over the top. Business casual I guess.

I didn't interview in Montreal, but I did interview in Vancouver during winter and I layered up. Big mistake. Try to keep it simple (pants, shirt, coat, shoes). I bundled up with a huge sweater, scarf, and jacket and it was a pain taking all of my layers off and put them back on while the security guard was waiting to escort me upstairs!

Depends how early you get to the consulate and line up. The area where you line up does not see alot of daylight due to all the tall buildings so you may be in the shade. I do know recently my family who live there said its really really cold. so definitely wear winter boots hat gloves etc. no need to "dress up" for the actual interview. casual attire is fine.

I had a March interview as well. You don't need to get dressed up as if you are having a job interview, so business casual is fine (that is what I did). Wear something comfortable, neat and warm. A nice pair of pants and a sweater would be perfectly fine - along with your winter coat, boots, hats and mitts/gloves, of course! You may have to wait outside for a bit and the entrance and street are in the shade so there is no warmth from what is still a pretty anemic sun at this time of year and that time of morning. Good luck at the interview!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
