When I hit 5 months, I called to make a service request and the tier told me to call back another month if I don't receive a decision. I called today, I know, two days before I hit 6 months.. But told the tier I've yet to receive a decision and would like to send in a service request. She said I wasn't allowed to since I was still in the "processing times". I don't understand!!!! She used the "working on July 18" but they've been on that date for two months! I am so frustrated I'm on the verge of tears. I planned my wedding for April 13, and now it's looking impossible. ? What's going on CSC? Help me understand :(

Slow processing at CSC.

Why? The million dollar question. Nobody is accountable it seems. No reason given, other than "we're late, because we're late".

And you've discovered the wonderful world of "we decide what normal processing times are, not what normally actually is".

Just wait it out. There are many who share your predicament. But you really shouldn't plan on anything, until the visa is in hand.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I should've slowed down with the wedding plans. They aren't written in stone, I just made them in case they asked me for proof of intent to marry. I see that you've applied before me, I hope you get your decision soon. This waiting game isn't for the weak, which I'm slowly becoming. Patience isn't a quality I possess, lol.

They certainly do not process them in order they receive application. And it looks like they've been stuck on processing August applications for almost 2 months if you look at K1 Time Line. Calling them is useless as they read off same information form uscis.gov website. I've been arguing with them trying to get e-Request for beyond posted processing time completed (CSC 5.5 months) but they just messenger boys and were not helpful at all.

Here is some of my statistics for August

Days

173 9/1/2012 2/21/2013 Jamaica 5m20d

173 8/31/2012 2/20/2013 Liberia 5m20d

185 8/13/2012 2/14/2013 Laos 6m1d

176 8/21/2012 2/13/2013 UK 5m23d

179 8/10/2012 2/5/2013 India 5m26d

182 8/6/2012 2/4/2013 Japan 5m29d

168 8/17/2012 2/1/2013 Australia 5m15d

189 7/27/2012 2/1/2013 Philippines 6m5d

177 8/1/2012 1/25/2013 Russia 5m24d

AVERAGE for August applications

178 days

AVERAGE for August applications

178 days

I would have to add, AVERAGE for August applications that have been processed. When the remaining august applications are finally processed (and the majority of August applications have not been processed yet), starting today they will be 179-209 + 1 day per each day it takes to get processed.

I checked my INS case status on their website and signed into my account. I received my NOA1 on August 27 and it says my case was last touched on August 30. Is this accurate? Do they update when they touch the file? If so, this makes me so sad.. Does this mean they haven't even gone through my papers or have had my fiancé investigated ? (By investigated asking his nearby neighbors questions about us etc)

This is typical. Mine was last updated August 27. So your file is just like almost every other K1 case at CSC. It's just sitting there collecting dust.

NOA1 - 8/24/2012

NOA2 - 3/18/2013 Only took 207 days at CSC
