Putting together an initial K1 Visa packet

Hi all!

I'm about to put my initial K1 Visa packet together to submit to the Dallas Lockbox. I'm looking for examples of what people used...like binders, folders, tabs, bags for pictures, etc....any help would be great! Thanks

I sent about 5 pictures with different settings and family members. At the back of the pictures I put the description of who is in the pictures.

I don't think they want binders or anything like that. Have you looked through the guides and reviewed the instructions in detail to make sure you're providing what they are askin for exactly as they ask for it?

nictillster I have read all I can...I found the K1 Guide but it doesn't state to use a folder or a binder just to put pictures in a plastic bag and where to put the cover letter and 1145 form....So I'm trying to get some ideas as how people submitted theirs. I want mine to look nice and professional and not like a 2 year old through it together

Just make sure it's in a logical order (ie, forms, then proof of citizenship, then proof of meeting, or something like that) and that things are not lost easily (thus put photos in a bag so that tiny passport photos don't fall out and get lost).

From reading here, people have sent in all different kinds of things and it doesn't really matter as to how it's done as long as they can figure out what everything is. Make sure to list everything you're sending in a cover letter (ie, list what proof you're sending for proving citizenship, what you're sending for proving meeting, etc)

I did not use any folders or binders. I sent it in in the following order: G-1145 on top, check, cover letter, all forms starting with I-129F, letters of intent, proof of citizenship (all pages in passport), proof of meeting (plane tickets/boarding passes, etc), photos in a plastic bag.

Thanks vbtwo! That helps a lot. I'm compiling it all now as we speak. I think I'll just organize it all like you said and ship it in a big yellow envelope and send certified mail overnight.

We are also putting our packet to gether right now. Just need to get my Fiance's passport photo, His divorce decree and the check. I can't wait. I am so anxious to get this going.

I'm pushing for Monday. I got all my documents back from her this past week. I just need to print off some things from my email and put it all together and send it off. Why are you waiting for his taxes to come back? That info is not needed to submit the I-129F...thats for the NOA2 I believe where you fill out the I-134 (income and job verification)

lol Just so he isn't taking the payment out of his paycheck. He has also been helping me a bit financially so his taxes are the extra money to get this going.

One week isn't going to make a huge difference in the long run so I am trying to be patient

Ah ok....sorry wasn't trying to pry. I know some people try to send the financial info in with the I-129F thinking it will speed up the process. I wish there was some magical way of doing that. We can only hope for a 5-6 month visa instead of a 9 month to a year Visa

Just follow the guide. We literally put our petition together in the exact order it is in the VJ guide. We used small little plastic bags for the pictures etc on the back of the G-325A, and we used paper clips to keep the bits together that should be together, like forms, passport scans, letters of intent, boarding passes, evidence of ongoing relationship etc. We thought it'd make it easier to get through if we segment it all in logical order then put the table of contents at the top.
