You can ask them. They probably need to have a record of your income, if you have any, to make sure your baby still qualifies. Just let them know you can't have food stamps for yourself because of your status. Probably they will figure that out once they see your status, anyway.

They will ad you to the case, but you will not receive any stamps for yourself. They have to list you as part of the household. Also they will use your income to determine the amount your family will receive. Even if you do not have an income they will still deduct a certain amount. Your husband must submit a copy of your GC, your SS card sand anything else pertaining to you. Again don't worry, you will not receive any benefits. I hope I was able to answer your questions.

Best wishes,

If you haven't been here five years, you won't be eligible. If you are somehow approved, an error has occurred and you should call the office immediately and fix it.

THAT SAID, yes, they need your info. (I am an eligibility worker for SNAP/Medicaid/TANF in my county). You are not going to be part of the assistance unit but you will be part of the standard filing unit. That means that if you are a family of 3, the assistance unit (people receiving food stamps) will be 2 - you are not eligible. However, your income counts towards your husband and child (if you have any) on a pro-rated basis, and they need your immigration info to basically determine that you are NOT eligible because as the spouse and parent of someone requesting food stamps you are required to be part of the assistance unit IF ELIGIBLE.

It should be clear when (if) approved that you aren't getting the benefits - it'll say "you will get X dollars of X # of people." If you find you are included in that number, call and make sure they fix it. Otherwise, you're good to go.
