Hello!

I was wondering if it would be okay for my fiancé to get his shots in Haiti? Later, once in the States we would find a civil surgeon to do the Medical Exam and fill out form I-693 from his vaccination records. I have researched here on VJ and it seems an okay thing to do. But I want to make sure before he goes ahead and do that. The reason we would prefer this route is because of lot of them he can get for free in Haiti. Thank you for any helpful input!

I think the only issue would be having documentation of the vaccines for the doctor who is going to do his official medical exam.

My husband ended up getting all of the shots required because that Haitian doctor required him to. He had the Tdap vaccine just before our son was born, but he got it again (just 3 months later) because we didn't have adequate documentation.

Thank you for the reply! I think we will have an official vaccination record from the Hospital he is going to get his shots (the same one we used for his medical exam)--I think it'll end up costing about 20USD for him to get all the required shots. We will start the process tomorrow... What do you think?
