Hello everyone:

I called dr. Seiden office today, the reason I did not get the famous do not open envelope my medical is because of the positive TB skin test ( which I know) I'm from Philippines originally so I got. BCG Vaccination when I was young. My X-ray are normal and in 2006 I did the 9 months isoniazid treatment.

Now, does this thing affect my interview? Anyone with the same experience??

As long as you clear the xhest xray. My tb was positive. I did the blood work instead of the xray. Blood work was negative and it wasn't an issue.

Just get the chest xray and you'll be fine. I was vaccinated for TB when I was 12 with the BCG, but apparently people who get the BCG young are more likely to test positive. I tested positive at my 693 medical, got a chest xray, and I have my green card :)

I was also vaccinated against TB as a child (it's routine in Europe) and so was expecting a positive skin test but fortunately it came out negative. Later research showed that the vaccination only lasts for around a decade, explaining why I subsequently tested negative.

As stated, provided your chest X-ray is clear there will be no issue.

Same here...tested positive when I was applying to school sport team about a year ago (skin test). At that time, did chest x-ray for $250! Now, when I needed this again for the green card, I had to do it again, and they did blood test. Tested negative on the blood test...kept quiet about the skin test as I did not feel paying again for something I know it is not even a real TB. Reason is the same as you guys...got the darn BCG when I was a month old. LOL And I've got the green card too. :) I think they know that most people have BCG immunization when they are kids if they came from a developing country, or a third world country. Chest x-rays worth it, if you had skin test. Blood test (interferon-gamma) are awesome as not only they don't hurt at all, and they don't cause any inflammation, or extreme reactions (or maybe that was just my case when I had the skin test a year ago), and also tests negative. :)
