Back in 2003 i got married to a woman who was already in the US legally, but on a visa overstay.(she already had come here on a visa that she had before we met.) We divorced, and now we have no contact. I then then brought her two minor children here and did the same for them. (they also had obtained prior to me being in the picture)

Now i am looking to Petition a I-129F, and not sure how to answer Question #11, as i have no records or anything left from that time.

Should i answer No, or Yes based on my prior marriage?

Thankyou,

It's missing part of your story because it's not clear. What do you mean by "I did the same for them"?

Did you file any immigration documents for your ex-wife and her children?

Yes, i did file immigrations documents, although i forget now which ones ( adjustment of status i think ) . They all became legal perm residents, and the ex gained her citizenship.

So i did not help them gain visa's, but filed after they were already here in the states. So not really sure how to respond to question 11, since i have no A# on them now, and dont even remember where we sent the documents to, or their exact dates.

thanks.

I guess you filed an I-130 petition then, which is one of the form the US citizen files for a spouse already in the US (plus the affidavit of support). The adjustment of status form is filed by the non-US citizen. So you should answer yes to that question because you did file for an alien wife in the past.

You really have no documents about it? You could put at least their names, but it would be answering only partially to the question.

Instead of putting in a a#,would i be able to put in a SS# and the year it was filed? Would this cause the I-129F to be denied?

thankyou
