rescheduled my april interview for march today :)

Looks like Montreal has opened up a couple dates in March or had some cancellations.

When I first looked March 14 was available, but didn't want to take it without talking to my fiance. When refreshed that was taken, but March 19th was then available.

I took that date and it looks like there are more available for the same day...

So if you're looking for a march date, act fast. Don't know how long it'll last.

I also took an early interview when I was going through CR1 visa. NVC assigned me June 11 but I called them and rescheduled it for May 22, 2012. It was fun to be able to have an early appointment

since you did CR-1, did you give them a valid reason as to why you want an earlier interview date? or just asked for an earlier date?

I didn't give them any valid reason.i just called them and asked I would like to reschedule my interview and is there any date available for me. Then the guy on the phone offer me is May 22, 2012 works for me I said it works great.I also mentioned him my scheduled interview date in on June 11 and he said no problem

After I rescheduled my interview date I emailed Montreal consulate to confirm my new rescheduled date and they replied that they've confirmed my new date.Thats all

did you speak to someone at the NVC or DOS hotline to reschedule your interview? because I know Montreal doesn't take phone calls. I appreciate it if you let me know, thanks

Let me know what they response.. When you will get your interview date and printout the appointment page, call this no and reschedule. In the mean time book your medical with your appointment letter from NVC .They don't like/want the new appoint letter somehow.Also mention them that you've reschedule your interview and provide them the date.

Just wanted to add that they're actually booking for CR1 very quickly compared to what I expected. Mine was only 4 weeks from the day it was scheduled. I'm down to three weeks from today after only having found out about it a week ago!

As I understand it, CR1 applicants receive an interview date from the NVC. However, it seems like sometimes applicants can have their interviews rescheduled to an earlier date. Does everyone call to make this request? Or am I being unreasonable and I should just stick with the date I was given? If it is normal to call, how frequently do you call to ask for an earlier date?

I don't want to cheat the system by asking for an earlier time than I deserve, but if rescheduling is the norm, I don't want to be left out either. Any advice would be appreciated.

As far as I know CR1's get scheduled..... K1's are different... we do the scheduling ourselves. We do it through the csc website and have the option to check dates and if something is sooner, we take it.... Sorry I don't know anything else about the CR1... I don't know if you can call and change or if you're stuck with what they give you.

I only had a month from when my interview was scheduled to the date of the interview (tomorrow as I post this msg) so I wouldn't have even been able to move it up any sooner than that. Even though all my items were ready for the interview stage you still need time to book and attend your medical which depending on where you are might take a couple weeks to get the appointment time. Obviously everyone is different. Even as prepared ahead of time as we were, if my interview had been bumped any earlier it would have actually been difficult to coordinate as the medical was booking 2 weeks out and it took a few days to get everything back. You need the actual interview letter before you can schedule the medical too.

Were you already given a date? I don't see your timeline being updated even with NOA2?

You can certainly try for an earlier date, they'll give it to you if it's available and IF you can even reach them. It takes a couple weeks just for them to respond to the online inquiries.

As you noted, I am still waiting for an NOA2, but the optimist in me has turned my attention to the next steps so I can be prepared. Hopefully, I won't be stuck waiting too long.
