Hi Everyone!

I'm Erica and I am brand new to this site. I actually had been looking for a "support group" of sorts for those in a similar situation as I and this looks like a good avenue to take.

I am a US Citizen and I married my husband Mostafa November 20, 2012 in Cairo. Unfortunately we are apart during the process of our paperwork but life must continue while keeping our eyes on eachother as the prize. I swear if it takes 100 years I will gladly wait because I know the heart of the man I married and there could never be for me a more perfect one. Nevertheless waiting is not always easy. I don't really know what I'm doing and really hope to gleam some understanding on the process through this site.

Chicago will be our homebase as he has his brothers here already and they are a good support for me as well as their wives during this difficult time.

Our paperwork is only just barely accepted and is being processed at the National Benefit Center. He has a feeling that it won't take too long and I have a feeling it will (I hope his instinct is the right one). Right now I feel sort of helpless just sitting here waiting for him to fall into my lap and just wonder if there's something constructive I could be doing to speed things up or prepare for the next step. Reading some entries are helpful but they can also be scary as I've seen some worst case scenarios as far as length of time goes. Well, if anyone has suggestions I am happy to accept and am also willing to listen as I know there are other wives out there waiting for their hunnies. I took to writing in a journal but I have a feeling this can also be therapeutic and I'm looking forward to it. :)

Anyway, thanks guys and good luck and lasting love to you all xoxo
