failing the civics test?

My wife becomes eligible for US citizenship this coming April, so we're discussing whether or not she wants to go through with it. One thing she's getting hung up on is the civics test. She is the type of person that gets insanely anxious at the prospect of any kind of test, especially one as important as for her citizenship. I was just wondering: what are the consequences for failing the civics test? Can you get another shot at the test without having to pay another N-400 fee or wait on the application again? I didn't pick up on this from reading the guides or the first few pages of the forum, so I apologize if this is a repeat.

The N400 is like a yellow tag sale, you get 2 for the price of one...it's easy, good luck. (aparently your wife is from England, just tell her to remember that they didn't win the revolutionary war)

if you are debating whether or not to go get her citizenship, let me ask you this.. do you want to continue to deal with the uscis for the rest of your lives? if you say no, then you know what to do :)

it's not fully up to me though. if it were entirely up to me, we'd file the paperwork as soon as she's eligible. i don't see a real downside to doing so besides the fees and hassle, but as i said, it's not entirely my choice.

Quickest way to learn is by teaching, on that four hour drive over for my wife's interview, I first memorized the test, she would give me the questions, I would either give the correct or incorrect answer. Mostly on the more difficult questions, so she could correct me.

You only have to get a 60% on this test, answering six out of ten questions correctly, not very many people fail. Stepdaughter never even looked at the test until we got in the car, both were only asked six questions, civics test was over in a minute as was the English test.

My girls have English as a second language, had to learn English first.

There are only 100 possible questions. So why not learn them first, then when she feels more confident you can send in the application. Of course review the questions again, as some may have changed by the time she takes the test, but it really is quite simple :-) And you only need 6/10 correct to pass.
