Hello everyone,

My husband will be coming to the states soon... His POE will be JFK. Can anyone shine some light one what he can expect when he arrives? What is the process or questions he may be asked for those entering on a CR-1 visa????? And how long could the process take? I will have to park in short term parking I guess when I go to pick him up but I would like to know how long I may have to wait.

Thanks in advance.

Yay! Congrats!

My memory of entering on the CR-1 at JFK is hazy at best. I flew in with my husband (the USC). Our flight out of Singapore was delayed 6 hours and we were awake probably 42 hours by the time we arrived. Our flight was scheduled to depart at 11.55pm so we were up the whole day before we got on the plane. Neither of us sleep much on airplanes unfortunately!

We got into the visitors line and no one directed us to go to any other line even though I had the sealed envelope out in plain sight. The lines were super long that day. When we got up to the CBP guy, he asked for passports, sealed packet and the customs form. He did some small talk with the husband but never spoke to me except for to ask me to put my fingers on the fingerprint scanner and to take my picture.

He then returned our customs form and passports (he stamped mine and wrote my A# and date of entry beside the visa) and directed us to an area in the back (secondary processing, maybe?) where they did more processing and had me sign some paperwork. There were several "stations" laid out back there that were just desks and some chairs for waiting. We were directed to a specific one and when we got there, we waited for maybe 2 mins before another CBP guy called me up to the desk and had me sign some paperwork.

That was it as far as my entry to the US. Nothing bad. Just long... and very very hazy.

Congrats but no worries everything will be just fine. All I know is that they will just get his finger prints & he may be asked if he did bring some food with him from Morocco then he will be directed to another place where he may get asked where is he staying the address & then signed some paperworks that is all. It may take long time if there is so many people waiting in that office to be called by name. Good luck to your husband really happy for you.
