Hello. I have a friend that married his wife 2 years after my wife and I hooked them up. Here in lies the issue. Her old work visa has now expired, but they want to get her status adjusted for their marriage. They are both in the US. Is there any particular road blocks they are going to see? I directed them to the I-130 process, but am unsure of what else they may need to do. Any assistance?

that guide is NOT the I-130 process; sure, it includes the form I-130, but that's not it.

Luckily, you gave them the right guide, as they will be filing an adjustment of status casefile.

Unsure about the unlawful presence after a work visa expires - in general terms, through, unlawful presence is waived when the green card is approved.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
