That's what they told my wife on the 13th of December at her Visa Interview.

It's been 4 weeks now and still no Visa.

I called the DOS many times and they keep on telling me that we are in administrative processing BUT, not what type of AP and only the Embassy has this information.

Being in AP has been the worst experience throughout our journey.

I'm not exactly sure what all my options are and would like to know if anybody else had such good news during the interview and ended up with such a long delay on getting there Visa?

not much you can do I just found out. best bet is to fax them or email the embassy if there is a long delay in getting your visa they are more likely to reply though. after 60 days they are suppose to respond but before the 60 days they will only respond if there is a problem with your case or if you get lucky.

SO WE WILL JUST WAIT it out. nothing here on VJ can help us at this time. sad, but true.

Sorry that your wife has been waiting for so long. The fact that there was the holidays is also to take into account. I waited 2 weeks after my interview in Paris to get my visa, because there was a few US and French holidays at the time.

Do you have any ideas of why her case in is AP? Is she born in France? Does she has some family out of France?

Sometimes, they just choose randomly cases and do more background checks too.

As you said, nothing you can do but wait, and call the DOS/Embassy every week.
