Immunisation Records: Currently MIA. Help!

Hello All,

I am the beneficiary of my wife's (MeredythB) petition. We live in Ireland. My mother cannot find any immunisation records for me. Obviously, I know when I was born, and at what hospital, but not what doctor I went to for injections. Does anyone know what steps I can take to find these records, or should I visit my GP and ask for a second battery of shots? Can I have a titre test done to determine what antibodies are in my blood, so that I might have a record that way? Any help would be appreciated.

Bren, some of these questions are best answered by your current physician, who will also be able to advise you on how to obtain your immunization records if they are recorded somewhere official. Someone else may have more tips, but I'd go through my doctor first.

Does your mom remember the name of the doctor she took you to as a kid? If so, even if that doctor doesn't practise anymore, the doc who took over the clinic may have the records. Also check with your local HSE office, they may have a record.

Hi Bren, the local child and family health centre

(HSE) might be able to help. I am currently trying to find my records too. They don't keep records at the doctor's office anymore. I called our local family health centre yesterday but she wasnt too hopeful as she said they are all hard copies so I guess it depends on how hard they look! She said she might be able to find a record of my MMR but if I need BCG records I have to contact the hospital where I was born. She wasn't too hopeful re Polio etc.. Does this mean we would have to get them again do you think? We are in Meath so you might have a bit more luck where you are.

There are tests that can be done to see if you carry the antibodies.

If you cannot find records from the initial immunization, these new records suffice.
