here is what i came up with with the case numbers from Mumbai consulate's interview schedule:

Case number Julian date Case number assigned on

BMB2009807148 307 11/2/2009

BMB2010514059 14 1/14/2010

BMB2010716059 216 8/3/2010

BMB2010756084 256 9/12/2010

BMB2010819129 319 11/14/2010

BMB2010848016 348 12/13/2010

BMB2011576015 76 3/17/2011

BMB2011617011 117 4/27/2011

BMB2012727055 227 8/15/2012

BMB2012749041 249 9/6/2012

BMB2012805017 305 11/1/2012

BMB2012842015  342 12/8/2012

so if someone who was assigned case number in december 2012 is getting an interview on March 2013, what could that mean?

i am confused....any thoughts on that?

i am confused too where do you get these PDs because consulate never publishes PD..

Most of the people here get easily confused between PD and NVC case number. They are totally different. What you see here is the NVC case numbers and not anyone's PD. It could be possible that some people with VSC got the approval recently so their NVC case number has 2012...Again, this is not PD.

those are not PDs, they are the dates when case number was assigned to the case.

i deducted that from their case numbers.

I think we had a discussion about that own this forum a few months back.

the first 3 letters of case number is ur consulate or embassy, the next 4 numbers are the year u were assigned the case number, the next 3 numbers is 500+julian calender date and the very last 3 numbers are the serial number or something.

We cannot tell PDs from case assigned dates though.

true, but still if the case number is assigned in 2012 or even in 2011 that would mean that pd is atleast somewhere in 2010.. no?

Let us say the dec 2012 case number received the case number like 1.5 years after the PD then her PD could be somewhere in June 2011.

Also i dont understand why someone whose case number was assigned in 2009 (of course her PD is way before that) is going for interview in March 2013.

Whatever it is I am hoping for good news. I am sick and tired of waiting for the damn visa.

Have faith and keep thinking positive.
