I751 removing conditions

Hello,

I am new to the board, just registered, I'm in need of advice on my immigration waiting time.

Basically I had the 2 year conditional green card, and sent in the I751 within the allotted amount of time before I ran out. They sent me for biometrics instantly after getting the forms, and that was all almost 2 years ago, since June 2011 I have been waiting for anything, I signed up to the USCIS site to keep tabs on my status, and its still in the initial review stage! I am not sure what I can do, I called them, and they didn't say why it was taking so long. I also have been to the office in my state/city a couple times, as I had to get a stamp in my Canadian passport for an extension. I originally received a year extension, well that has been long past, my husband and I have our lives on hold for this, I'm getting really concerned, and worried that there's something else going on. They did ask for proof and we had bank account information and tax information that we sent in.

Any information or stories to help me please it would be appreciated!

Thanks

I would be concerned to with your file if it has been 2 years already. First thing is to call your senator, representative and tell them about your situation. They are big help since they can get answers we can't. Second why are you waiting? Apply for your citizenship and send them a copy of both the extensions and file your N400 that will speed it up. I'll tell you this, 2 years is not normal. And when you call them demand. You can also take them to a court, and let an immigration judge decide. You have 3 option and you have to choose. Do it fast because USCIS appearently is slacking on your file.

By the way I've seen somebody who applied for citizenship and his removal of conditions is still pending, today he is a US citizen and his removal of conditions is still pending. So don't wait.

I also have my son attached to this removal, hes currently only 10 years old. I do not want him to be deported or whatever may happen since I can file naturalization, hes not of age apparently, at least the site says hes not. Also since they stamped my passport, I cannot renew it, and it expired, so I cant go anywhere out of country if I wanted too. I'm going to visit the Canadian consulate and see what I can do about that. But thanks for the advice, this immigration thing has been a pain in the butt. The money spent, the headaches, now if the case is that the case will stay pending, that's annoying, because that's money wasted.

I know how that feels that's why I adviced you to call the senator or representative of your state and ask them for help. 2 years are way longer than what it's supposed to be. Besides. don't worry about your child because if you file for citizenship and you get approved and become a US citizen he is automatically a citizen as long as he is under 18., So don't wait do what you have to do from now. Google the name of your senators and representatives, how to contact them. I'm sure they have websites and call them, I promise they will help you soooo much.
