Another Einstein that would remove the roof on his house because the roof is man made and man made dams sometimes cause floods.

I have not made the claim that dams cause floods. You have. I refuted that claim because it is false.

You should try and keep track of your own line of argument.

funny a florida dweller should pick that as an analogy :hehe:

Well, it's an easy to understand analogy. Not easy enough for some here as it turns out.

No, water causes floods and the corresponding damages. There can be no flood and hence no flood damage without water. Floods are not man made. They are natural events. Floods have been there before man, floods will be there after man. Floods occur on populated and non-populated land.

Dams cause floods in much the same way as the roof on your house causes rain.

I see. Another Einstein that would hold the roof on his house responsible for the rain. Please proceed, gun nuts.

Speaking of nuts and our beloved deceased physicist . I have posted some links to some fine articles for you. Much like guns, your debating an issue you know nothing about

I can see clearly now wow and thank you .

So lemme summarize: All of the rushing water around the children and around the person of the politicians who declare emphatically that rushing water does not stop rushing water is not because "rushing water can stop rushing water dead in it's tracks"

I believe I'll stick this under the "liberal logic, I love it" tree

I think at this point he should just go,, my bad I am hungover. ROFL :rofl::rofl::help::help::help:Oh dear god get my off the floor laughing at the stupid stuff liberals say

Actually dams do cause flooding in many cases. Your on a fine roll this morning little puppy. Me thinks you know as much about floods and dams as you do assault weapons

http://www.rainforestinfo.org.au/deep-eco/Dams.html

SNIP---large dams are problematic for a number of reasons: They dislocate huge populations of people leaving them homeless and destitute, destroy entire forests and they cause floods, salinity and water logging. Dams have either eliminated or endangered one-fifth of the world's freshwater fish.

I think your bridge collapsed and your train? Downstream - somewhere

Just remember the dam washed your train away. It wasn't the water at all.

Here is my official position. It's gonna rain. Nuts have been born and raised since the beginning of time and bolts were invented to thread them down tight. When the bolt snaps and you really really need to hold that nut down - grab the nut and by god build a better bolt.

Let's get to you: When the dam cracks - it's liberal logic to survey it and conclude it must be because there are too many logs or too much cement and by jolly and let's just solve the problem by taking some of it out just to see if it will hold

Floods are not man made. They are natural events.

a bit of american history trivia - this is one flood i remember reading about when i was a teen.

The Johnstown Flood (or Great Flood of 1889 as it became known locally) occurred on May 31, 1889. It was the result of the catastrophic failure of the South Fork Dam situated on the Little Conemaugh River 14 miles (23 km) upstream of the town of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, USA, made worse by several days of extremely heavy rainfall. The dam's failure unleashed a torrent of 20 million tons of water (4.8 billion U.S. gallons; 18.2 million cubic meters; 18.2 billion litres) from the reservoir known as Lake Conemaugh. With a volumetric flow rate that temporarily equalled that of the Mississippi River,[1] the flood killed 2,209 people[2] and caused US$17 million of damage.

this from a lake owned by a private fishing club and the club failed to maintain the dam.

Yes, a catastrophic failure of a dam will cause a flood. That does NOT support the claim that "dams rather than water cause floods" which is what Einstein Jr. and his sidekick have been saying.

You haven't actually bothered reading these, have you? The first one specifically talks about how a dam ended annual floods and the negative impact this had on the ecosystems downstream. So now they're experimenting with these man-made floods that replace the ecologically natural flooding that went away when dam was built. They produce that flood. On purpose. Because the dam - watch it now - STOPPED NATURAL FLOODS. So your article proves not that dams cause floods but that they actually stop them. Is that sinking in?

That is exactly what you said ---Quote Big Dog " Floods are not man made.". Now you have amnesia.
