Hi all.

I am new to this area of the messageboard having recently been approved for my K1 visa. I have searched for help, but to no avail.

We are looking at all the AOS forms, and have a question in regards to the I-131.

Part 4 asks for information about the proposed travel, however this is not yet known. I will be planning on heading back to the UK sometime between June and August, but dates will not be booked for months. Also, I am filling out the form for family reasons - we have a family member going through an illness at the moment, and want to be able to fly home last minute if needs be, so again, I have no dates set in stone yet.

Any advice would be great, or if this has already been answered, a link to the thread would be helpful too.

Also with the I-864, we are looking at sending all the forms off within a week of getting married. My partner (the American citizen) will be changing her name, but this will obviously take some time - is it best to fill in all the forms with her maiden name, as technically, when we filled them in, that was her name!

Thanks guys.

Put Unknown for the travel dates on the I-131.

If your wife will be legally changing her name when you get married, then she can go ahead and use her married name on the AOS forms. The copy of your certified marriage certificate that you will be sending acts as a legal name change document. She can take care of changing her SSN, license and accounts after you have filed for AOS.

I agree with Jay Kay. They will understand she just got married. They see it all day long. Marriage based AOS usually involves a new name for either the petitioner or beneficiary.
