Hello everyone, I am new to this site and I really need a strong advice in regards of evidence of finacial support for K-1. My fiancee has a job and earn $2,000 montly. He owing taxes and presently paying back montly. My question is: Like how much money my fiancee has to show in his bank account to meet up with finacially stable requirement? Can the debt of taxes he owing affect the K-1 petittion? Any response would be grealy appreciated. Thanks to everyone.

2000 a month is 24000 a year, and is enough for 2 people. It's also enough for 2 people.

For assets, 3 times the amount is needed. Lets say you fell 3000 dollars short of income requirements and to make up for it in assets, you'd have to have 9000 in assets.

Owing taxes should not affect you.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

I agree, owing taxes should not be an issue, especially being that they are paid (even thru a monthly plan). You should be fine, with that income, since it is over requirement. Although, an option would be to find a co-sponsor just in case they requested. Yet, I would not think that they will require that. But me, myself, always try being overly prepared for anything. Good luck in your journey!!!

Good day. Your fiance owing taxes doesn't have anything to do with meeting poverty guidelines. They just want to know if your spouse make enough. That's all..
