Hi all, sorry for all the questions, so I browse the CJ embassy site and they say "The fee for filing an I-130 or an I-360 is $190.00 (or Mexican Peso equivalent). The fee must be paid in person to the U.S. Consulate Cashier located in the Immigrant Visa (Building B) Section. The fee is payable by the following means:

Cash in U.S. Dollars or Mexican Pesos; or

Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Debit Cards with the Visa logo are also accepted."

but at the USCIS - CJ info website it says

"Paying Fees

Fees for applications and petitions are listed on the Forms section of the USCIS website. The fees for all applications and petitions submitted to this office must be paid at the Consulate's Cashier window, with either U.S. dollars, Mexican pesos, U.S. Postal Money Orders, U.S. Treasury Checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover Card. We do not recommend bringing large amounts of cash due to security concerns."

so, the embassy says, pay $190.00 and the USCIS says pay $420. Now do I pay $190 or $420 or $190+$420?

I'm not sure where the reference to $190 for an I-130 is coming from, but the fee is standard no matter where in the world you file it: $420 USD or the equivalent in local currency if filing DCF. The USCIS page that provides the I-130 form and instructions always has the current fee:

http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

If you're preparing to file DCF, you may find this post helpful, as it has lots of Mexico-specific DCF references and information:

Oh, also Mexico DCF petitions can be filed to CDJ, Monterrey, or Mexico City by mail, so you should be able to submit the payment without going to any embassy or consulate.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

Uncle Darnell say Please to pay 420 when submitting an I-130 into Cuidad de Juarez

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

thank you!, yes I've been surfing that forum like crazy. here is the link for the $190.00 filing fee (i cant add links yet) but its in the CIUDAD JUAREZ EMBASSY SITE > Visas > USCIS (Citizenship and Immigration Services) > Instructions for Filing an I-130 & I-360. maybe they mean if you file in person there is an extra charge? as in the filing fee is 190 and the petition is 420 hence paying both? thoughts appreciated... also if filing to Juarez, is the US money order paid to US department of homeland security or the USCIS there.

Which embassy are you planning on filing at? We filled at the Mexico City embassy. They required the fee in USD. It was difficult to find a bank in Merida that would issue a cashiers check in USD. I can help you get through the process quickly. It took us 45 days from the time we filled untill we were crossing the border.

Wow, that link is wacky. Don't pay attention, it seems like it's referring to I-360 AND I-130 filed together (a very unusual situation to begin with) but no matter what, just follow the standard instructions for I-130 and mail or submit in person at one of those three consulates that does DCF in Mexico.

You make it out to USCIS. CDJ is the only place that processes these visas. You can only apply at 3 embassies.
