As long as the required documents are on the official language of the country where the visa will be processed you will have no problem

I recently had my interview in Moscow embassy, and they requested translation for the certificate. Here is the quote from their website: "Applicants are required to submit police certificates (original and translation into English) in ALL names (including maiden names) as well as ALL dates of birth that they have used."

where did you get your police certificate translated into english?

You got your sertificate at local police department- Russian ministery of internal affairs (http://www.mvd.ru/mvd/structure/unit/giac/info/), it takes 1 month to get it( you should apply a request and wait), and then you translate this paper in any translators agency in the city ( i paid 250 roubles for that).

and for any updated information about list of the papers you definitely need in embassy-use the site http://moscow.usembassy.gov/iv-fiancee.html.

I did mine myself, they don't require "official" translation.

someone should update the FAQ, moscow embassy's website says ALL documents need translations with original.

my fiancee can't translate it because she is not fluent in english. i would have to have her go to a translator as Nathan&Elena did.
