USCIS tells me the following is a common problem - has anyone else experienced this?

We filed AOS+EAD+AP to Chicago on 20/Jan (my wife is a K1). About a week later we received the three NOAs as expected. About a week later I tried to begin tracking them online at the USCIS web site, but when I attempt to add the cases by entering the Receipt No's the web site tells me that they aren't valid case numbers.

I have called, and when I get someone they then tell me I must be transferred to an officer, who then tells me that they have my paperwork, that all is 'normal', and that often cases are not entered in a way that they may be tracked online, and that they will change this with my cases but it will take a NEW 30 days for them to 'open' the receipt no's so I can track them online.

Can anyone share experiences with this? We are urgently attempting to schedule some int'l travel.

Thanks!

That is strange. I just got my NOA1 for my EAD yesterday and was able to go online that evening and track the case. I have heard the online system is pretty unreliable.

At least you know they received your application which is the important thing. You'll get your NOA2 when it is approved, so you're not really losing much by not being able to track your case online.

after biometrics, my 1-765 became trackable online and a few days later the I-130 was also seen online. Until now, my I-485 is still invisible. I called up last week and was transferred to an officer inquiring the validity of my receipt #, and was told that the # was good in their system. it's been around 7 months since the # was assigned but still i can't check it on line. hope this helps.

Don't place a lot of thought into that whole online system. When we got the NOA's in the mail we were able to put it into the system but it hasn't been updated since day 1 and we have already recieved biometrics so I know that the system isn't reliable. You have the NOA's in your hand. That is all that really matters IMHO.

Good luck :star:

We want to make her airline and other travel reservations as soon as the AP is approved, knowing it's on the way. If we can see the approval online, we can book travel in advance, timing the departure to the receipt of the AP.

Thanks

Unfortunately, if it's not online, it's not online!

It is, however, perfectly normal for your case status not to show up online. Mine took over a month from the receipt of my NOA's.

Don't panic and fret - you can't hurry this process and it will only stress you out more.
