I did my medical exam today in St. Lukes. I was asked to undergo sputum test due to the abnormlity they saw in my cxray. It really made me feel crying because I never expect to have it. Starting Monday until Thursday, I am going back to the St. Lukes for the test. Then, the result would be in firstweek of January. Anyone the same situation? :(

I'm so sorry about your medical exam, sis. But don't worry, they're doing this for YOU. Just participate and do what the doctor tells you to do for your health because that would speed up your recovery. January? That's SOON. :) Keep the faith to God and continue to love each other.

God bless you. :)

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

In GOD we trust. † = ♥

It's happened to many including my Fiancee. Always keep in mind that this is for your benefit to ensure that IF you are indeed positive you are treated according to the standards required for immigration into the US. My Fiancee had to undergo DOT for several months, but we both understood her health was the most important thing. All will turn out well no matter what the outcome of the test. God Bless.

Hello PrettySweety2010 thing's happen with reason just think positive and pray for guidance. I know what your feel right now bcoz I experience that feeling when I get my result for my medical and find out that my Lung have scar so I need to undergo three day sputum and wait 2 months culture. One thing that I hate during sputum is getting phlegm from your lung's even you haven't but I really thankful to God that the result after two months was Negative. I know waiting are suck but that's the time we test our patience. Don't worry you'll be fine. God Bless

Thank you so much to those who responded with helpful support and telling me that i will be fine. :) I keep praying that i will get the negative result on my culture test after 2 months.. So stressful coz i want to be with my fiance so soon :( we cancelled my interview this Nov 26, and thought i can be with my man in just 2 weeks coz he will be with me on my interview. :( I can't help to feel jealous to those people here on vj that passed their medical exam :( But i know God is so good and there's a reason why it's happening he knows whats the best and God has a best plan! :innocent: God Bless you all. :)

  • 1 month later...

We are in the same boat! Waiting until Jan. I did not know that the sputum test was a culture test and that the 2 month wait was to allow for growth. Now it makes more sense. We are waiting patiently but it's hard!

With my medical background... I'll say this:

These 2 months of treatment followed by a negative test later, will result in MANY years if happiness and healthy living. Should you be positive and not get the treatment it will truly mean a short life for you.

Be patient, get your treatment and get healthy!!

TB is horrible! I have taken care of many people with this and they can be very very sick. I hope everything turns up negative for you. Like everybody said here, remember it's for you and your health!

Good luck! :thumbs:
