Today, we finally received the approval notice, which reads:

The above petition has been approved, and fowarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance,...

Does this mean that the case will NOT go through NVC and I should not call NVC? If that's the case, what the next step for me? sending all documents to my fiancee?

It will go to NVC after it has been approved. You'll call after few day to get a case number. Your case might need an additional processing and that could take up weeks (it took them 3 weeks for our case) but some didn't have to and completed after few days. Once completed, it will be forwarded to your consulate.

DS forms are country-specific, check with your consulate.
