What does the USCIS status and expiration mean on the form? my wife entered on a B2 visa and am not sure what to enter on this box..would it be B2 and the I94 expiration datE?

Day 11/14 Mailed AOS Package

Day 11/16 AOS Package Accepted

Day 11/20 Received Text with receipt numbers

Day 11/21 Checks cashed

Day 11/26 -Letter for Biometrix - its on 12/20

Day 12/20/ went to do biometrics, turn away as wife has a cut on thumb - will try to walk in next week

Day 12/28 - bio metrics done ! - walked in San Diego as we were visiting my in laws.

Day 1/4/2013 - received text/email that case is ready to be scheduled for interview !

Day 1/15/2013 - received hard copy letter to let us know interview is on 2/12 !

Day 1/17/2013 - received text/email that EAD has been approved

Day 1/26/2013 - received EAD card

Day 2/12 - interview done - approved on spot!

I think so. But I'll let someone chime in who is more sure. But what I always heard that it is the date on the I-94 that counts as an "expiration date"...not the B2 visa itself as that can be valid easily for 10 years.

Visa is NOT a status.

Visa is a permission to travel to a country , issued by consular officers.

Status is granted at the border and is valid for the duration of time indicated on I-94, until departure or a finding by USCIS that

the individual is no longer in status.

For B visa non-immigrants, their status is endorsed on I-94 form (usually valid for 6 months from the date of entry).

The latest date on I-94 is the expiration date of the status (with the exceptions mentioned above)

I-485/I-130 filed: January 26,2012 (130/485 sent to Chicago lockbox, transferred to MSC, field office Baltimore, MD).

I-485 DECISION MADE on August 03, 2012 , LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER CONTACTING THE SENATOR'S OFFICE TO INQUIRE ON CASE STATUS!

Yep, you are right. USCIS status is B2 and expiration is the date on the I-94 - the date her authorized stay ends.

Thank you ! i am done with this form and the support form, few more and i hope to have the packet ready ..its not as bad as the I130 heheh but working on this slowly :)

Thank you ! on I 94 it has B2 on it - so thats what i'll enter B2 and the expiratio date on it.
