Getting a GC for my mom.

I paid $88 fee and sent DS-3032 last week but havent got any confirmation yet. Do I need to wait until getting i-864 and ds 230 invoice and after that i can send i864 and ds230, right?

Just want to speed up the process. Is there anything i can do to prepare some documnts? So we can do it right away. Right now, im gathering tax and civil documents.

When do we get the police record? Do we need to wait until getting instruction and letter before we go?

Since you paid the AOS fee already, is it appearing as PAID on the payment portal? If it is, then you can send the AOS package now.

Once the DS-3032 has been accepted, the IV bill ($230) will be invoiced on the payment portal. Once you pay it and it appears as PAID, then you can send the IV package.

While you're waiting, you can prepare both the AOS and IV packages.

The police record is part of the IV package. Your mother should be getting this done NOW.

And no, you don't need to wait for NVC to tell you you can send the packages. If the bill shows as PAID on the payment portal, then you can send the respective package.

I highly suggest you click on the last 2 links in my signature and do some major reading.

As Saylin said, get the police report NOW! Send her a copy of the NOA2 from USCIS, or a copy of the correspondence from NVC. They'll probably ask her for it when she goes for the police report. You'll need to submit the original when you send in the IV packet to NVC.

Yes. the status has been changed to paid.

For clarification, the AOS fee is $88 and the IV fee is $230, correct?

I just quit my job to be a stay at home mom since July. How do we file the i864?

Thank You. I will tell my mom to get the police record as soon as possible. Since you are also Thai. Is the police record called ใบรับรองความประพฤติ in Thai??

The only document that is required is the approval letter (NOA2) other than the following documents ?

- two recent photographs (2 inch x 2 inch), the original and a copy of his/her passport, identification card, household registration, name change certificate (if any), marriage and divorce certificate (if any).

I'm actually not Thai, my wife is. Click on the link here for info on the police certificate.

It's the first link under Download Document. I'm not sure if she is in Bangkok or not. My wife was able to pay some lawyer 5k THB in Chiang Mai to deal with it so my wife didn't have to travel there.

Yes, those are the correct fees.

If you're currently not making any income, then you'll need to find a joint sponsor who will fill out their own I-864. Even if you're not making any money, you still need to file your own I-864 as the petitioner.
