But he didn't lie Blanche....

"When Gov. Romney says that we should eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood, there are millions of women all across the country who rely on Planned Parenthood for not just contraceptive care, they rely on it for mammograms,” said Obama Oct. 16 during the second presidential debate.

Yay, someone who can read!

For the men here who have never had a mammogram let me tell you what happens - if you are 40 or over the doctor refers to a facility where they will administer the mammogram as part of your annual OB-GYN exam.

If you are under 40 and, as part of your annual exam, they find a lump or irregularity they will refer you to a facility.

You go to the facility, a technician performs the scans and then send the scans back to your doctor. The technician does not diagnose any problems you have. Your doctor reads the scans and lets you know the results.

The actual administering of the mammogram is a small part of the overall process of breast cancer screening. The important part is what the doctor does before and after the scans. This is the part PP provides.

I would also note that PP also provides pap smears, which test for uterine and cervical cancer.

Plus, they also provide abortions. That really is the issue, isn't it?

 No. The issue is the many services they provide that women rely on.

Would America be better off if more women died at childbirth?

It's a serious question, deserving a serious answer.

Worth a serious answer. Does Planned Parenthood get involved in such cases where the life of the mother is in danger?

if they don't have insurance - no

They can in the county where I live. County health services provide a whole array of services to women, including contraception.
