Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and this is my very first post. Please kindly welcome me!

So my main question is in regards to applying for a SSN with an EAD card that has an error on the DOB. I accidentally wrote May 17th instead of my correct DOB of May 7th on my original I-765 form and I did not catch this mistake

until I received my actual card in the mail. I have called the 1-800 number for USCIS and the rep. put in a service request and gave me a reference number. However I will be working very soon and I would like to know if I can still apply for a SSN with the EAD card I have. I believe applying for a SSN won't be a big issue since I will be showing my passport as ID but I fear there may be a problem in the verification step (SAVE?) as my DOB in the USCIS's system is incorrect and I assume it won't be fixed anytime soon. Should I just risk it and go apply for a SSN or just wait it out until I get my new card in who knows when with USCIS handling the case..

Any help or guidance will be much appreciated!

Thank you!
