I feel uncomfortable when I am faced with a couple where the man is like 50 and the girl is 18.... and same when the woman is 50 and the guy is 18... just does not feel right to me...

 As long as it's not you it shouldn't affect you at all ;)

That's kind of a surprising statement coming from you, VP.

Why? Have I ever said anything against relationships with age differences?

Just the theme of how a much younger man can love a much older woman. Of course in the book it doesn't blossom into love, but it is a love story nonetheless.

The character in Dandelion Boy was a preteen boy. Are we talking about the same book?

No, but on several occasions you seem to have been opposed to things that many people consider personal decisions such as this one.

There is nothing in my faith that classifies this as fobidden or disliked.

Sigh, Don't have enough time tonight for this one.

Have you read the book? There are many themes in it you won't get from the wikipedia notes. The boy sees the romance through his eyes. It is an older friend of his that has the friendship with the older woman, not the little boy.

Condescending coming through loud and clear :D Yes, I read the book and I didn't need to read Wiki notes

You said "it is a novel based on this theme". It isn't. It isn't a book about older women and younger men.

If you are referring to the ice cream shop scene, that is hardly the "theme" of the book and was hardly a "relationship".

 The kid is young, younger than I would touch him with a 10 foot pole. I did order it from the library tho. I remember leaving the theatre scratching my head, but I also remember that it was beautifully filmed.

Veiled Princess are you a true example of your faith.... unable to express your own opinion and base all your decisions on your religion???

Does that mean that if its not classified in your faith no matter what it is its ok by you????

Every since I was a young girl, I inadvertantly dated younger men. For some reason God blessed me to look 10 years younger than my age so even at the age of 18 I was attracting 16 year old guys and now a really full grown woman it hasn't changed.

Olden men think I'm to young if that's believable or only dirty old men talk to me :hehe: and younger guys find me irresitible. So that's what I dated. The 10+ years I dated younger I guys I've learned two things..

1 in a billion men are mature enough to know what they want and to settle down (that's the 20 something crowd)

At some point your 20 somethings will catch up to your 20 something children which can be quite uncomfortable.

Now that I'm finally old enough to attract 30 something men, its not quite so bad. This one is more mature than I am :P . I cause all the trouble and he calms me right down. I call him the old man and he always says "what else should I be".

Different strokes for different folks but in my opinion young for fleeting fun, loving old will always hold! ;)
