Hi everyone!

On the I-485 form it asks 'Expires on'

Do they mean the I-94 which expires on Nov 18 2013 or my K-1 visa which expires on Dec 18 2012?

On my sons form it asks for his A# and in his visa underneath Annotation it says PA: My name. What do I put in the box on his form?

Thanks for any help :)

It's your I-94 expiration date. And I guess you mean Nov. 18 2012, not 2013. :) (date is on the stamp, should be 90 days after your date of entry)

Your K-1 visa expired the date you used it.

If you don't know his A#, just put nothing... Not sure where you can find it. A&B may be able to answer that one.

Thanks for the reply. I wondered which it was, as on the visa it had an issue date and Expiration date.

I will put the I-94 expiration date, but I have double checked both the dates on mine and my sons and they both say Nov 18 2013! Guess the officer made a mistake?

Hmm, I think so! The I-94 expiration date for K-1 should for sure be 90 days after POE. I see that you entered on August 12th, 2012, so yes, it should be 2012. Weird. :)

My stepson (K-2 beneficiary) got his Alien number (A#) on his I-797c notices that we received after starting the AOS process. Prior to that we would insert "None" on any applications /forms requesting his A#.

The K-2 visa in his passport indicates P/A as the OP previously described.

YMMV

Good luck on your immigration journey.

You are welcome. You can message me, however, it would be better if you just post your questions on this forum. I check it regularly. There are also others that have done, or are doing, a K-2 AOS, and may also leave their comments. I know that I have learned a lot from them. That way everyone benefits that uses the forum. Check out this stickie at the top of the forum page:

Just by curiosity A&B (and also for the OP), what is the I-94 expiration date for your wife and step-son? 90 days after their POE, right?

Good question didopage!

Their POE was 26 July 2012, their I-94 expiration date is 23 Oct 2012, pretty close to 90 days. (I had to check the scans of their passports for those dates.) Of since, that date is now somewhat moot as that they are now in "AOS process" status since they have received their Form I-797c NOA1 from submission and receipt of their I-485 petitions from USCIS. If all goes according to VJ time estimates, we are hoping for adjudication of their AP and EAD petitions between 21 Oct 2012 and 24 Oct 2012. They had their biometrics "captured" (USCIS-speak) earlier this month, and we are " now waiting for the next shoe to drop" at USCIS on their AOS petitions

In the meantime, our family life progresses on…. he is in his first quarter of classes at the local community college, she is signing up for ESL classes at the same college. We are growing together as a family, making our vision of our American dream come true. It has almost been one year since we embarked on our immigration journey, and what a year it has been! The end result, thus far, makes all of the trials and tribulations well worth the effort!

Happy trails on your immigration journey. Merci, 谢谢, danke, thank you.
