Hi all.

I have recently sent off my k1 visa app to the US Embassy in London and had the medical. All we're waiting on now is the date for the interview.

However i have a few things that concern me, one is i am in dept currently, by about 5k. i am able to pay it off before i leave assuming i am accepted for the visa, but i wanted to know if im in dept at the time of the interview, will it affect the decision? my fiancee' (us citizen) is able to support me even at the same time as paying off my dept, obviously i don't want her to inherit my financial problems.

Many thanks

Marc

Debt has no effect on anything immigration-wise, since it is purely a civil matter and USCIS / DoS are concerned only with criminal matters.

Welcome to the forum.

Do you mean "debt?"

:time: It helps everyone quickly understand where you are in the process.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Thank you both for the quick reply. Yes i do mean debt  I'll update my information to show my timeline tonight.

My other question is my fiancee' has not got any tax transcripts for this year or the last 2 years due to the fact that she only started working her new job this April just gone.

For the I-134 support form, are we still able to submit without the tax information and instead letter from employer, bank statements and so on?

Thanks again

Marc
