Guys I'm new here. What suggestions can you give me on how can i and my Girlfriend Communicate? :) If possible thru SMS and Calls. and what are the US rates? Thanks in advance :) have a good Day!

No question skype is best for day to day talking, phones and sms can be ify. e-mail is my second choise, would be first if she didn't have good access to the net.

She has called me a few time just for a min or two as the cost to her is so high. I reserve that for problems that require more imediate attention.

Does anyone know about accessing WiFi for someone that already has Internet at home? My fiancé is using an old laptop at home and the connection has been poor lately. I am bringing him an iPad next month so we can communicate on apps (I have an iPhone). He mentioned he doesn't have WiFi at home and connects the laptop through USB. I'm no techie but I had assumed he used Ethernet and could just hook up a Wireless Router? :o

The next option would be wifi hotspots I guess.

Thanks!

Yes you need a router.. when my husband went to PI last year he bought a router so I can access my laptop and phone, same benifit for my sisters if they are home.. but I have poor internet connection too so it's kinda unreliable sometimes, mostly if it's raining.. good thing I was using smartphone (Samsung) so if I have trouble w my internet at home (wifi) I register on Unli surf so that we have other way to communicate each other..

Call your internet company. The new Ethernet is also a wireless router nowadays. You can ask them about it. :)
