Obama has never truly done well in debates. It's not one of his fortes as he doesn't have a teleprompter. The guy is a great speaker, but needs the words to use in front of him. When he's been on his own he's always had trouble and we saw it last night when he just kept repeating the $5 trillion mumbo jumbo over and over.

I never thought it was going to be a slam dunk at all. I've said all along it will be close.

It just amuses me that the Romney campaign was trying to downplay the importance of the debates, but since their candidate did very well, all of a sudden they're super important.

well yah. they gotta try to push whatever bump they get. the next debates will be super important. if obama has a repeat performance, he's in trouble.

It's easy to "win" a debate when you can just talk over the opponent. Romney's performance was very good, but fact checkers are destroying him today. His opinions that were stated last night differ vastly from the opinions he's spoken about on the campaign trail for the last year and a half.

Obama will have to be more aggressive, absolutely. He backed down far too easily when Romney was, once again, repeating things that were not true. He seemed tired, and caught off guard by the sudden change in position that Romney was offering on nearly every issue. He needed to be passionate and just wasn't.

Being addressive seems to be the key. Because apparently, what you actually stand for doesn't seem to matter.

It's difficult to prepare for a flip flopper. Hard to predict which Mitt will be debating.
